Creek County Clash II and Terry Walker Memorial Format Set for 2018

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (February 8, 2018) – Officials with the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass have released the format that will be utilized during the Creek County Clash II and Inaugural Terry Walker Memorial. Slated for March 8-10, 2017, the frenzy of small car competition will take place at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla..

The Creek County Clash II and Terry Walker Memorial is being promoted by NOW600 Series founder, Terry Mattox. The event is set to be Oklahoma’s only three-day Micro Sprint race in 2018.

The Clash will include Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class, Restricted ‘A’ Class and Junior Sprints all three nights. Sportsman will run Friday and Saturday while the Mini Mods will run on Saturday.

New for the 2018 edition, the Saturday night finale will be the Terry Walker Memorial which will feature 27-lap feature events for all classes except the Junior Sprints and Mini Mods.

The Saturday winner in Stock Non-Wing and Winged A-Class will pocket $527 while the Restricted ‘A’ Class and Sportsman winners will walk away with $327. Junior Sprints will race for $227 to win.

Saturday afternoon we will be hosting a Kick Ball Tournament and Tailgate Party in the over flow parking lot starting at 12PM.

The Format: ALL CLASSES

No split field. All drivers will compete on both qualifying nights as combined points from Heat Races, Semi’s, and Mains will set the lineup for Top 4 on Saturday night. Any tie in points will be broken by Friday’s passing point totals.

NOW600 Format will be utilized with draw in for Heat Race starting position and passing points to determine drivers who advance to the Semi’s and Main Event.

Each night, Top 14 in Passing Points from Heat Races will move into the 20-lap Main. The highest passing point driver will draw for the invert at the NOW600 trailer during intermission. Remainder will fall into the nights Semi. Lineup will be done by passing point totals.

If one Semi is needed, the top 6 drivers will advance to the A-Main. If two Semi’s, then the top three, if three Semi’s, then the top two. Semi's will be 12-laps.

Following the completion of Friday’s program for Restricted, A-Class and Non-Wing event points will be totaled with the Top 4 locked in, straight up, into Saturday’s Main Event. All other drivers will run a complete show.

Junior Sprints will not lock in any drivers from Thursday and Friday. Sportsman will not lock in any driver from Friday.

Thursday and Friday Race Points will follow the following scale:

Heat Races:

Points will be based off the drivers awarded passing point total from Heats.

Semi Races:
Each driver that does not transfer from the Semi will receive one (1) point.

Main Event: Based on NOW600 points structure for standard A-Mains:

Each night will count as points events for the Lucas Oil NOW600 National Series.

Wednesday night, March 7 will be a practice night for teams to test out the new Creek County Speedway configuration. $10 pit passes.
