Flud and Moran Triumphant During Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series Event at Creek County
Inside Line Promotions – SAPULPA, Okla. (May 6, 2018) – Frank Flud picked up his 34th career Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass feature victory of the season and Rees Moran earned his first career series triumph on Sunday evening at Creek County Speedway.
Flud captured both his Winged ‘A’ Class heat race and the $600-to-win A Main after starting on the pole in each race. The triumph was his series-leading 17th in the division and second of the season.
Harley Hollan, who is tied with Flud for Winged ‘A’ Class victories this year, finished second with Garth Kasiner rounding out the podium. Chase Randall placed fourth and points leader Jim Woods ended fifth.
Kasiner and Ryder Laplante joined Flud as heat race winners and Shawn Wicker claimed the B Main.
Moran charged from sixth to garner the $400-to-win Restricted ‘A’ Class main event, becoming the sixth winner in seven races this season. Points leader Ryan Timms finished second with Laplante, Shawn Mahaffey and Kale Drake placing third through fifth, respectively.
Moran, Laplante and Noah Gass each won a heat race.
The Lucas Oil NOW600 National Micro Series returns to action May 26-27 at Airport Raceway in Garden City, Kan., during the 3rd annual Midget Round Up.
