Stubblefield, Ross and Timms Top Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Event at Superbowl Speedway
Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (July 21, 2018) – Colby Stubblefield and Brady Ross each scored their first career Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass feature triumph and Ryan Timms halted Ryder Laplante’s four-race winning streak on Saturday at Superbowl Speedway.
Stubblefield held off Chase Randall and points leader Daniel Shaffer to garner the Stock Non-Wing victory. The trip to Victory Lane makes Stubblefield one of a dozen winners this season in the division. Ross posted a fourth-place finish with Trey Burke fifth.
Ross, Stubblefield and Timms were the heat race winners.
Ross was victorious in the Winged ‘A’ Class division with points leader Jim Woods finishing second after he started the 20-lap feature seventh. Daison Pursley, who trails Woods by only two points in the championship standings, rounded out the podium. Burke was fourth and Randall ended fifth.
Chase Brewer and Pursley each won a heat race.
Timms took advantage of starting the Restricted ‘A’ Class main event on the outside of the front row as he picked up his second win of the season. Kale Drake placed second with Laplante, who leads the championship standings thanks to a four-race winning streak entering Saturday, finishing third. Chase Hyland produced a fourth-place result and Brant Woods was fifth.
Laplante claimed the lone heat race.
The Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass will be off the next two weeks before resuming competition on Aug. 10 at RPM Speedway in Crandall, Texas, and Aug. 11 at Superbowl Speedway.
