Flud Powers to Pair of Wins and Timms Nets Triumph During Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Season Opener at Superbowl

Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (Feb. 15, 2019) – Frank Flud doubled up and Ryan Timms was also victorious on Friday evening during the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies season opener at Superbowl Speedway.

Flud, who is the winningest driver in series history, added to his record win total in both the Stock Non-Wing and Winged ‘A’ Class main events on a night when both classes showcased at least 40 entries.

Flud advanced from third and held off 16th-starting Anton Hernandez to score his 22nd career Stock Non-Wing main event triumph. Jared Dunkin placed third with Kyle Jones fourth and Johnny B. fifth.

Colton Corbin, B., Flud, Jones and Colby Stubblefield each won a heat race. Joey Starnes and Hernandez were the B Main winners.

Flud took advantage of starting on the pole to capture his 24th career Winged ‘A’ Class feature victory. Noah Key, B., Chase Randall and Caleb Pence rounded out the top five, respectively.

Chase Hyland, Koda Oller, Tatum Woods and Timms were victorious during heat race competition while Chase Brown and PK Rutterwick claimed B Main wins.

Timms maneuvered from fourth to garner his seventh career Restricted ‘A’ Class victory, which is tied for second most in series history. Defending series champion Ryder Laplante finished second with Mason Daugherty third, Caleb Rouser fourth and 16th-starting Joshua Gentry fifth.

Daugherty, Laplante and Brant Woods won heat races and Braxton Wilson picked up a B Main win.

The season-opening doubleheader concludes on Saturday. The pit gate opens at 4 p.m. with the NOW600 Series draw running from 4:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with hot laps at 6:15 p.m. and racing to follow.

Tickets for adults are $12 and children ages 7-years-old to 11-years-old are $7. Children ages 6-years-old and younger get in free. Pit passes are $30 and drivers will need to purchase one for each class they are competing in.
