Flud and Timms Sweep Weekend and Hernandez Captures Second Career Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Triumph to Cap Season-Opening Doubleheader

Inside Line Promotions – GREENVILLE, Texas (Feb. 17, 2019) – Frank Flud and Ryan Timms continued their excellent start to the 2019 Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies season as both drivers were victorious on Sunday afternoon at Superbowl Speedway to sweep the season-opening doubleheader.

Anton Hernandez also earned a trip into Victory Lane – the second of his career – as he held off Flud to score the Stock Non-Wing feature victory. Kyle Jones placed third with Jared Dunkin fourth and Chance Hull fifth.

Hull, Johnny B., Keith Martin and Kobe Simpson each won a heat race with Skylar Rhoades picking up the B Main triumph.

Flud powered to his second straight Winged ‘A’ Class win and his record 25th overall with the series. B. bested Brady Ross for the runner-up position with Garth Kasiner finishing fourth and Noah Key rounding out the top five.

Landon Ellis, Ross, Kasiner and Earl McDoulett Jr. were the heat race winners. Gerald Ray garnered the B Main victory.

Timms netted his eighth career Restricted ‘A’ Class win to move into second on the all-time wins list. Ryder Laplante placed second for the second straight race with Conner Long charging from 12th to third. Mason Daugherty ended fourth and Thomas Hall Jr. recorded a fifth-place finish.

Braxton Wilson and Joshua Gentry each won a heat race.

The Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies resumes competition March 1-2 at Arkoma Speedway in Arkoma, Okla.
