Andrews, Goodman and Gaddy Record Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Wins at Port City During 3rd annual Oil Capital Clash Opener

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (March 14, 2019) – A trio of drivers scored their first Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies feature victory of the season on Thursday during the opening night of the 3rd annual Oil Capital Clash at Port City Raceway.

Chris Andrews captured his second career Stock Non-Wing triumph while Avery Goodman’s Winged ‘A’ Class victory was a career first as was Grayson Gaddy’s Restricted ‘A’ Class win.

Andrews powered from fourth and held off 11th-starting Cannon McIntosh for the trip to the Stock Non-Wing Victory Lane. Trey Robb rounded out the podium with Gage Robb fourth and points leader Frank Flud fifth.

Jake Nail, Cole Roberts, Gage Robb and Andrews were the heat race winners. Jared Dunkin and Ryan Timms each claimed a B Main.

Goodman bested sixth-starting Andrews during the Winged ‘A’ Class main event. Kevin Bayer placed third with McIntosh fourth and defending series champion Daison Pursley fifth.

Goodman, Bayer, Roberts and McIntosh each posted a heat race triumph while Flud and Trey Robb both picked up B Main wins.

Gaddy outlasted Timms, who is the Restricted ‘A’ Class points leader and who was undefeated in three starts this season, for a feature victory. Defending series champion Ryder Laplante garnered a third-place finish with 19th-starting Brody Mclaughlin fourth and Tyler Kuykendall fifth.

Rees Moran, Timms and Garrett Benson were heat race victors. Elizabeth Phillips was the B Main winner.

The event resumes on Friday. The pit gates open at 4 p.m. with the grandstands set to open at 5 p.m. The NOW600 Series pill draw will be from 5:15 p.m. until the drivers meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:37 p.m.

Everything begins one hour earlier on Saturday with racing for the 2nd annual Terry Walker Memorial to kick off at 7:07 p.m. The night concludes with 27-lap main events in memory of Terry Walker.

The top four drivers in event points in each class following the two preliminary nights will lock into Saturday’s A Main.

Nightly tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors. Children ages 10-years-old and younger get in free. Pit passes are $30 per person.

Additionally, a pit party and cornhole tournament will be held on Friday night after the races and the fan fest and kickball are slated for Saturday afternoon.
