Newell, Flud and Timms Earn Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Wins During Sooner 600 Week Race at Port City Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (June 15, 2019) – Frank Flud and Ryan Timms both won a Sooner 600 Week main event for the fourth straight night and Jeffrey Newell posted his first Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies win of the season on Saturday evening at Port City Raceway, which hosted more than 100 entries during the fourth round of Sooner 600 Week.

Newell bested 45 other drivers to capture the Stock Non-Wing victory. Chase Randall charged from 17th to a runner-up result with Jesse Frazier finishing third, 20th-starting Curtis Jones fourth and 12th-starting Layden Pearson fifth.

Frazier, Caleb Pence, Dustin Dixon, Preston Perlmutter, Jake Rosario and Pearson each won a heat race. Shawn Mahaffey and Greg Emeterio Jr. were the B Main winners.

Flud hustled from sixth to score his 11th NOW600 Series Winged ‘A’ Class triumph this season and his fourth in four Sooner 600 Week starts. Steven Curbow placed second with Randall, Chase Hyland and 15th-starting Rosario rounding out the top five, respectively.

Mahaffey, Curbow, Hyland, Randall and Flud were the heat race victors. Rosario and Conner Lee picked up B Main wins.

Timms produced his sixth consecutive trip to Victory Lane during a NOW600 Series Restricted ‘A’ Class main event. Elizabeth Phillips maneuvered from 14th to second place with Rees Moran rallying from 11th to third. Preston Scheulen was fourth and Ryder Laplante placed fifth.

Scheulen, Conner Thomas, Brenham Crouch and Timms won the heat races. Timothy Watson III and Justis Sokol were the B Main winners.

The Sooner 600 Week finale is Sunday at Arkoma Speedway in Arkoma, Okla. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $30 for the pits. It will be an earlier start time with gates opening at 3 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
