First-Time Champions and More Than Two Dozen Feature Winners Highlight Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Season

Inside Line Promotions – DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (Nov. 10, 2020) – While some things stayed the same, many others changed during the pandemic-plagued 2020 season for the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division.

Frank Flud, the winningest driver in series history, continued to add to his stout numbers. Flud led the way with a dozen Stock Non-Wing triumphs and 10 Winged ‘A’ Class victories. He also doubled up – winning both classes on the same night – seven different times this year. Flud surpassed 100 career national wins during the 2020 season as well.

The three national divisions featured a new champion this year as Bradley Fezard and Jade Avedisian became the first drivers from outside of Oklahoma to claim a title. Fezard is the seventh different Stock Non-Wing champion in eight years. Avedisian claimed both the Winged ‘A’ Class and Restricted ‘A’ Class titles, becoming the first driver to win those two classes in the same season and the fourth to garner two NOW600 Series championships in a single season.

Flud was one of 14 different Stock Non-Wing winners this season and the only driver to score multiple triumphs. Johnny Boland, Kenton Brewer, Kris Carroll, Hank Davis, Fezard, Harley Hollan, Shawn Mahaffey, Jace McIntosh, Jeffrey Newell, Skylar Rhoades, Gage Robb, Ryan Timms and Timothy Watson III each posted a single trip to Victory Lane.

The Winged ‘A’ Class division also showcased a double digit number of winners. Flud was followed by Timms with four victories and Avedisian with two as Boland, Xavier Doney, Fezard, Noah Key, Ryder Laplante, Robb and Bryant Wiedeman each earned one win.

Avedisian and Garrett Benson were tied atop the win’s list in the Restricted ‘A’ Class division with a half dozen triumphs a piece. Laplante, Caden McCreary and Collin Mitchell all scored a pair of wins and Kayden Cole, Tyler Kuykendall, Jett Nunley, Jack Thomas and Trey Zorn posted a single trip into the Winner’s Circle.

Stay tuned to the NOW600 Series social media accounts for the 2021 racing schedule, which is slated to be released in a few weeks.
