Boland, Pearson and Mahaffey Capture Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Wins During Round 2 of Oil Capital Clash at Port City Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (May 7, 2021) – Johnny Boland, Laydon Pearson and Kaley Mahaffey emerged victorious during Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division action on Friday evening at Port City Raceway.

The drivers each earned their first series victory of the season on a night when a season-best 126 entrants encompassed the three NOW600 Series divisions competing in Round 2 of the 5th annual Oil Capital Clash.

Boland picked up his second career Stock Non-Wing win with the series, making five different winners in five races this year. Gavan Boschele placed second with Kris Carroll third, Trey Robb fourth and Jake Rosario fifth.

Boschele, Robb, Hank Davis, Boland and Carroll each captured a heat race. Gavin Miller and Josh Marcham were the B Main winners.

Pearson held off Frank Flud to score his second-ever NOW600 Series Winged ‘A’ Class victory. Connor Lee finished third with Marcham fourth and Corbin Rueschenberg fifth.

Marcham, Lee, Jayson Campbell, Flud and Pearson claimed the heat races. Carroll and Garrett Benson split the B Main triumphs.

Mahaffey earned her first career Restricted ‘A’ Class series win. Braxston Wilson, Justis Sokol, Benson and Rueschenberg rounded out the top five, respectively.

Dominic White, Landon Graham, Benson, Sokol and Wilson garnered heat race victories. Chase McDougal and Megan Thomas won the B Mains.

The 5th annual Oil Capital Clash concludes on Saturday with the running of the 4th annual Terry Walker Memorial. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for seniors and children ages 6-years-old to 12-years old. Veterans and children 5-years-old and younger get in free. A pit pass is $30.

FloRacing will be broadcasting a live video stream for fans unable to attend.

Points from the first two nights of the event were tabulated with the top six in each division locking into Saturday’s A Main. The locked-in drivers are: Boland, Daniel Shaffer, Boschele, Kyle Thompson, Robb and Chelby Hinton in the Stock Non-Wing division; Marcham, Flud, Pearson, Lee, Robb and Carroll in the Winged ‘A’ Class division; and Benson, Wilson, Rueschenberg, Sokol, Cole Banderheiden and Jack Thomas in the Restricted ‘A’ Class division.
