Miller, Rueschenberg and Sokol Start Sooner 600 Week With Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Wins at Caney Valley Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – CANEY, Kan. (June 9, 2021) – Gavin Miller, Corbin Rueschenberg and Justis Sokol opened the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division Sooner 600 Week by recording victories on Wednesday evening at Caney Valley Speedway.

Miller claimed the Stock Non-Wing class and Sokol the Restricted ‘A’ Class division for their first career wins with the NOW600 Series. Rueschenberg earned his first-ever Winged ‘A’ Class triumph with the series.

Miller advanced from fifth and held off 11th-starting Brady Ross and 15th-starting Trey Zorn for the Stock Non-Wing score. Colby Sokol placed fourth to take over the points lead and Johnny Boland was fifth.

Jaxon Brenning, Baron Silva and Boland recorded heat race victories. Zorn was the B Main winner.

Miller was the seventh different winner in seven NOW600 Series Stock Non-Wing races this season. It is the only division of the top three to not have a repeat winner so far.

Rueschenberg also topped Ross in the Winged ‘A’ Class main event. Garrett Benson rounded out the podium with Kenton Brewer finishing fourth and Zorn fifth.

Brewer, new points leader Noah Key, Zorn and Rueschenberg were the heat race winners. Talin Turner picked up the B Main triumph.

Justis Sokol was victorious during the Restricted ‘A’ Class main event. Jett Nunley maneuvered from eighth to second with Benson – the points leader – advancing from ninth to third. Turner ended fourth and Rueschenberg was fifth.

Benson, Turner, Rueschenberg and Abigayle Lett garnered heat race victories. Natalie Doney and Cole Vanderheiden each won a B Main.

Round 2 of Sooner 600 Week is Thursday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. The pits open at 4 p.m. with the drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
