Carroll and Benson Triumphant During Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Sooner 600 Week Visit to Port City Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (June 12, 2021) – Kris Carroll and Garrett Benson bested a season-high field of drivers to earn Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division Sooner 600 Week wins at Port City Raceway on Saturday night.

The three premier divisions featured a whopping 135 entrants with each class showcasing at least 40 drivers.

Carroll doubled up, winning the Stock Non-Wing and Winged ‘A’ Class main events – both for the first time this season with the NOW600 Series – while Benson posted his division-leading third Restricted ‘A’ Class feature triumph.

Carroll topped points leader Chelby Hinton during the 25-lap Stock Non-Wing A Main. Brock Berreth finished third with Ryker Pace fourth and 13th-starting Trey Marcham fifth.

Baron Silva, Matt Moore, Pace, Marcham and Connor Lee each won a heat race. Brady Ross and Jake Rosario were the B Main winners.

Carroll advanced from sixth to score the Winged ‘A’ Class triumph. Gavin Miller charged from 14th to second with Brad Best rounding out the podium. Jace McIntosh rallied from 17th to fourth and Rosario was fifth.

Carroll, Aaron Jesina, Justis Sokol, Pace and Trey Zorn won the heat races. Corbin Rueschenberg and Johnny Boland claimed the B Main victories.

Benson was on a mission as he added to his lead in the Restricted ‘A’ Class championship standings after maneuvering from 10th to Victory Lane. Talin Turner was the runner up with Jaxton Wiggs driving from 15th to third. Chase McDougal advanced from 19th to fourth and Rueschenberg ended fifth.

Chase Wright, Jett Nunley, Gaige Weldon, Bradley Cox, Benson and Jase Blevins picked up heat race triumphs. Wiggs, Jayden Clay and Ayden Parrish captured B Main wins.

The Sooner 600 Week finale is Sunday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla. The pits open at 3 p.m. with the drivers meeting at 5:45 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.
